Let's Start-Again

It's my favourite time of the year when the nip in the air makes the pace of life a lot more gentle . I just got back from a much needed vacation in the mountains and am doing what I always do at this time of the year - think about the year that was and make plans for the year ahead . I know that most resolutions are not followed through , sometimes not even for a week . I still make it a point to think about goals for the year ahead as I believe that it is a step towards self improvement . So here are my goals : I want to work on my skills to get more adept at using technology . Technology is my voice -the constant companion that has opened up the beautiful world of expression for me . Technology offers endless learning possibilities and I want to explore these possibilities with greater ease . It is believed  that  perceptions are important in shaping people’s personality. I say that perception is everything. The way I respond to a situation depends on my perception of the environment and that defines my personality. We all inhabit the same world , yet each of our worlds is different . Art mirrors life and one piece of art that represents this truth is The Scream by Edvard Munch . Edvard Munch was a leading painter of the expressionist school that used powerful, dark and bold colours to represent complex emotions . His work was greatly influenced by his childhood experiences that were predominant with feelings of melancholy, agony and anxiety. His art became the medium for him to bring to fore emotions that were repressed . A trip to Paris brought about some changes in his perspective which is reflected in some of his later work.
