In a world filled with cliched notions about beauty , intellect and even happiness , the life and art of Frida Kahlo is a beacon of  light . A Mexican artist , Frida was crippled by polio when she was six and was involved in a bus accident at eighteen which rendered her bedridden .She underwent multiple surgeries to recover but what remained intact was her will and her love for Painting . Frida painted many self portraits in her brief life . Armed with a bushy unibrow and a pronounced limp , Frida did not confirm to the society ’s idea of beauty and her life was hardly an epitome of joy .Yet her portraits are full of bright and vibrant colours and not dull melancholic hues .To me that signifies immense self confidence and self worth .
