The Rhythm of Rain
The sky is overcast with dark clouds spread out like a huge carpet on a blue canvas . Birds call out loudly in the whistling wind as they fly away to the safety of their nest- the cozy little home that they have put together with twigs , leaves and lots of love . The leaves on the trees are doing a merry dance to the tune of the whistling wind, but the traffic on the road is ambling along at a slow pace , completely oblivious to nature’s flurry of activity . The roads are full of people - some who hurry along with a sense of urgency and others who stroll leisurely and watch life go by . Then it happens ….the skies open up -just a bit at first , letting out a few drops drizzle down on to parched land. A few passers by look up at the overcast skies while a few others scramble for their umbrellas and then there are those who go by nonchalantly-the ones for whom getting wet is all in a day’s work ! Soon the rain gathers pace and starts to fall in a rhythm that gets faster and faster .
